GENESEO, N.Y. — An inmate at the Livingston County Jail is facing new charges after Livingston County Sheriff’s deputies say a fight took place inside the jail.
It happened at around 6:40 a.m. on Aug. 13 at one of the housing units inside the jail. Deputies say two inmates got into a fight, and one of the inmates needed to be treated for their injuries at a local hospital.
After investigating, 34-year-old Samuel Diaz of Dansville was arrested and charged with assault.
Diaz was arraigned and remanded to the custody of the sheriff with no bail. According to deputies, Diaz has two or more previous felony convictions.
