Johnson also brought up Panettiere’s beloved brother Jansen Panettiere, who died three years before his sister’s death at the age of 28.
“More than anything, I hope you’re at peace now and reunited with Jansen,” Johnson wrote.
Panettiere was found dead at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina, after authorities received a call around 1:51 p.m. regarding an unresponsive woman, who was later identified as the actress. In a 911 call obtained by People and TMZ, police could be heard reporting the incident as an “overdose.” Her death was confirmed by her father, who shared a statement.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,” the statement read. “She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen.”
On Monday, Aug. 17, an autopsy was conducted, and it determined that there were “no signs of trauma” that could have contributed to her passing. The preliminary police investigation also showed no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. But the investigation remains ongoing.
