ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Jury selection will begin Tuesday in the trial of two brothers accused of killing a family of four in Irondequoit.
Julio Pimentel Soriano and Luis Soriano are facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder as well as arson, kidnapping and burglary.
The bodies of Fraime Ubaldo, 30; Marangely Moreno-Santiago, 26; and their children Evangeline Ubaldo-Moreno, 4, and Sebastian Ubaldo-Moreno, 2, were found in the basement of a Knapp Avenue home on August 31, 2024. Prosecutors say the Soriano brothers killed them and then set the family’s house on fire.
Wayne County District Attorney Christine Callanan is the special prosecutor on this case.
Callanan says there will be one trial with two juries. Jury selection for Julio Soriano starts Tuesday, while jury selection for Luis starts Friday, Aug. 21.
