Multiple people charged following separate investigations into animal cruelty

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Six people within the greater Rochester region are facing charges in five separate animal cruelty cases following investigations done by Lollypop Farm’s Humane Law Enforcement team.

Dog’s death in Webster

James Reynolds, of Webster, is charged with torturing and injuring animals. Lollypop Farm says Reynolds left his dog inside his car while at work, where the dog ultimately died. Lollypop says a necropsy report confirmed the cause of the dog’s death was a heat stroke.

    75 animals seized in Chili

Bonnie and Timothy Schwingle, of Chili, are both charged with torturing and injuring animals, and failure to provide proper food and drink to an impounded animal. Lollypop says these charges are a result of an investigation that led to 75 animals being seized from their home.

    Dog dumped in Rochester

Minnie Brown, of Rochester, is charged with failure to provide sustenance and abandonment. According to Lollypop, Brown tried to dispose of an injured dog in a dumpster.

Lollypop says during the investigation, Brown admitted the dog suffered its injury several weeks before, and she believed the dog was dead. The dog was seized and treated for its injuries.

    Malnourished dog in Rochester

John Goings, of Rochester, is charged with failure to provide sustenance. Investigators say they found a severely malnourished dog at Goings home. Lollypop says the dog was seized, evaluated, and got veterinary care.

    Cat severely injured in Rochester

A person in Rochester is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals after Brighton Animal Hospital contacted Lollypop’s humane investigators about severe injuries to a cat. Investigators say the cat suffered a femoral head fracture, and ultimately required a leg amputation after having been kicked.

Lollypop encourages people to report suspected cases of animal cruelty or neglect by calling the Humane Law Enforcement line at (585) 223-6500.
