ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The current Chairman and CEO of L3Harris Technologies has stepped down following a conduct investigation.
The company announced Monday that Christopher Kubasik will be stepping down, effective immediately. According to the company, it says it became aware of “certain conduct by Kubasik that was not consistent with the values of the company,” outlined in the code of conduct.
Following an investigation, the company board determined it would be “in the best interests of the company to enter into a separation agreement with Kubasik.”
Now, L3Harris has appointed Sam Mehta as president, CEO, and a member of the board. Additionally, Lewis Hay III has been named independent chairman of the board.

Mehta has been with L3Harris since 2023. He joined as president of the communication systems segment and a member of the executive management team, and became president of the SMS and CSD segments in March of this year.
Before joining L3Harris, Mehta was president of Advanced Structures for Collins Aerospace, a business unit of RTX Corporation. Prior to that, he spent over 17 years at Sikorsky Aircraft.

Hay has been a member of L3Harris and a predecessor board since 2002. Most recently, he served as the company’s lead independent director and serves as a member of the company’s nominating and governance committee.
L3Harris didn’t provide any other details about Kubasik’s departure. The company said it wouldn’t be commenting any further.
