ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A warm front will continue to push through Sunday evening which will support some isolated showers and rumbles of thunder. We stay green on the Threat Tracker as very limited fuel is present for these thunder showers, though a quick isolated downpour is possible through the evening. Sunday night will stay warm with low temperatures near 70 degrees and humid conditions through the night. Winds will stay mainly out of the southwest behind this warm front between 8 and 13 mph.
Monday morning will bring a few more showers and rumbles of thunder as WNY stays situated between the warm and cold front of the passing surface low-pressure system. The cold front is expected to pass through around mid-day on Monday. Before it passes, muggy and warm conditions will support a few isolated showers through the morning. In the afternoon, partial clearing is expected and humidity starts to drop with the passage of the front. Highs on Monday will be around 79 degrees with winds out of the west/northwest between 10 and 15 mph. Chance of rain 25%. Some surface smoke also stays in the area through Sunday night and Monday. Though this smoke is expected to stay relatively thin and forecasted AQI is between 30 and 40 for Monday, it is possible AQI may reach into the low-end of moderate.
Tuesday will bring mostly dry weather with only a 10% chance of rain. Some spotty showers are possible, but a decent amount of sunshine will make its way through the clouds. Highs on Tuesday are forecasted around 78 degrees and very comfortable air will stay in our region. Humidity will start to increase Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning as our next system is expected to bring a couple rounds of storms mid-week.
