Four people were injured in a mass shooting in Chicago on Saturday evening, police said.
Around 7:17 p.m., a 43-year-old man, a 34-year-old man, a 32-year-old woman and a man of unknown age were all on a sidewalk on the 8500 block of South Sangamon in Chicago’s Gresham neighborhood when an unknown vehicle pulled up alongside them. Multiple people in the vehicle pulled out guns and fired shots at the four people on the sidewalk, police said.
All four were injured, according to police. Two of the people who were shot were transported to local hospitals in critical condition; the 43-year-old man, who was shot in the leg, and the man of unknown age, who was shot in his abdomen. The 34-year-old man was shot in the right leg, and the 32-year-old was grazed by a bullet on his arm but both declined medical attention.
Police are continuing to investigate.
