The final session of competition at the 2026 Pan Pac Championships is here and includes the 200 IM, 50 free, 200 breast, men’s 1500 free, women’s 800 free, and the 4×100 medley relays.
Night 4 Event Lineup
Women’s 200 IM Men’s 200 IM Women’s 50 free Men’s 50 free Women’s 200 breast Men’s 200 breast Men’s 1500 free Women’s 800 free Women’s 4×100 medley relay Men’s 4×100 medley relayKicking off the final night of Pan Pacs will be the 200 IM which saw Alex Walsh post the top time of the morning with a 2:08.57. Walsh was 5th earlier this week in the 400 IM and will be challenged by Summer McIntosh who is the #2 seed tonight as McIntosh swam to a 2:09.34 in prelims. McIntosh is the World Record holder in the event with a 2:05.70 lifetime best. After swimming the 3rd fastest time of prelims with a 2:09.69, Australia’s Ella Ramsay has scratched the ‘A’ final of the 200 IM in favor of the 200 breast where she is the #4 seed tonight. Fellow Australian Jenna Forrester will swim out of lane 8.
The men’s 200 IM saw the top four seeds separated by less than two-tenths this morning as William Petric led the way with a 1:57.72. Yumeki Kojima, Tomoyuki Matsushita, and Carson Foster were the other three sub-1:58s this morning. Shaine Casas scratched out of the ‘B’ final.
Kate Douglass swam to a World Record in prelims of the women’s 50 free, touching in a 23.49. That took the record back from fellow Virginia trained swimmer Gretchen Walsh as Walsh was second this morning with a 23.78. The two training partners will face off tonight as they have traded this record back and forth this summer. Jamie Jack touched the wall first this morning in the men’s 50 free with a 21.42.
Douglass continued her busy morning with the 200 breast as she swam the 2nd fastest time of prelims with a 2:23.42, a time that was just behind Kotomi Kato of Japan who swam a 2:23.38 to claim the top spot for tonight. World Junior Record holder in the boys 200 breast Shin Ohashi swam the fastest time on the men’s side this morning with a 2:08.90 to touch ahead of Japanese teammate Yamato Fukasawa‘s 2:09.00. Josh Matheny‘s 2:09.90 was the only other sub-2:10 swim this morning.
Bobby Finke is the top seed in the men’s 1500 free tonight with a 14:30.67 and is seeded 12 seconds ahead of Sam Short‘s 14:42.09. Short had a strong 400 free last night for the win and also won the 800 free ahead of Finke earlier this week. Katie Ledecky has already swam to wins in the 400 and 1500 freestyles this week and is the top seed coming into the fastest heat of the 800 free tonight with a 8:04.12 entry time, a second ahead of Lani Pallister‘s 8:05.98.
