On Tuesday, Nov. 17, the Blackhawks will celebrate their Centennial Game — the 100th anniversary of the first game in franchise history — against the Toronto Maple Leafs at the United Center. All of the terrific events over the past season and wonderful icons who were brought back and celebrated at various times throughout the last year were amazing. But… hear me out…
I’d love to see the Blackhawks roll out all of the greats that night. We’ve seen Denis Savard and Chris Chelios around the United Center. Jeremy Roenick has been in and out over the past few years. Steve Larmer returned for his Blackhawks Hall of Fame induction last year. Ed Belfour even came back! How about they bring Doug Wilson back into the fold? Maybe Al Secord could fly a few guys in and stay in town for a night, too?
And while we’re at it… the last time we saw all seven members of the three Blackhawks Stanley Cup championships of the 2010s together was when Marián Hossa‘s number was retired in 2022. With Patrick Kane back wearing the right sweater, let’s see the Hawks bring back Hossa, Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Niklas Hjalmarsson, Patrick Sharp and Jonathan Toews.

The Blackhawks will have a couple prospects playing in Milwaukee between Christmas and New Year’s Day as part of the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off. Nathan Behm and Arizona State will face Václav Nestrašil and UMass at 4 PM CT on Dec. 29 at Fiserv Forum. Wisconsin and Northern Michigan are also in the showcase. Behm and Nestrašil are two of the Blackhawks’ more intriguing prospects heading into the coming season. PuckPedia posted the list of potential players hitting that market. I’m not sure there’s anything there of interest for the Blackhawks. I was wandering around the 2010 NHL Draft (I’m not sure why any more). When we talk about “what if” draft classes for the Blackhawks, that’s a big one for me. Chicago — coming off a post-championship fire sale — owned picks Nos. 24, 35, 54, 58 and 60 in the first two rounds. The Hawks drafted Kevin Hayes at No. 24 overall, Ludvig Rensfeldt at 35, Justin Holl at 54, Kent Simpson at 58 and Stephen Johns at 60.
