ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We’re heading into the weekend on a high note. Other than a few passing clouds, we’ll see a mainly clear sky Friday night with temperatures falling into the upper 50s and lower 60s. We’ll start the weekend with mainly dry weather. A weak cold front passing through early Saturday may lead to a slight uptick in cloud cover and very slight chance of a brief morning shower. Otherwise we’re dry and mostly sunny with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
We’re still expecting some rain on Sunday, but the forecast is trending a bit drier. The main area of low pressure looks like it will drop far enough south to keep the most widespread wet weather away from us. But, we’ll still see some scattered afternoon showers with a few t-storms late in the day as that low pulls away. So, while Sunday’s weather looks better, it is still expected to be the wetter of the 2 weekend days, with Saturday being better for outdoor activities.
Some showers will linger into early Monday, before drier air and more sunshine returns into the afternoon. Most of next week also looks pretty good. We’ll track our next batch of rain and some storms by late Wednesday, Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.
