More than a dozen popular salsas, dips and guacamole sold at grocery stores and retailers nationwide have been recalled because a salmonella outbreak linked to fresh jalapeños, with customers urged to check their refrigerators and throw any impacted products away “immediately.”
The recall, issued by Sunday by Coast Citrus Distributors, lists 20 dips and other foods sold at Trader Joe’s, Walmart, Whole Foods and Kroger stores. Additional items were pulled from Whole Foods shelves Wednesday, the retailer said.
The products were distributed by Taylor Farms, the Food and Drug Administration said, with recalled products sold in grocery stores in more than two dozen states, including Illinois.

According to a news release from the FDA, the recalled items were distributed to retailers in the following states:
Alabama Arkansas Florida Georgie Illinois Indiana Kansas Kentucky Louisiana Maine Massachusetts Michigan Minnesota Missouri Mississippip Nebraska New Hampshire New York Ohio Oklahoma South Carolina Tennessee Texas Vermont Wisconsin West VirginiaJewel-Osco also recalled two salsas last week, and Chipotle Mexican Grill and Qdoba both removed jalapeños from some restaurants.
To date, no illnesses have been reported, the FDA said.
