Robber referred to urgent criminal trial after quintuple homicide in Fifth Settlement

The Public Prosecution ordered the suspect in the murder of a man, his wife, and their two daughters in the Fifth Settlement, New Cairo, to be referred to an urgent criminal trial following a 48-hour investigation.

The Public Prosecution had received a notification regarding the discovery of the bodies of four members of the same family in New Cairo, dead from gunshot wounds, who had previously been reported missing.

Initiating an investigation that spanned 48 hours, prosecutors inspected the crime scene, examined the bodies, and ordered autopsies.

They also tracked the victims’ route using CCTV footage and requested police investigations, which revealed that the perpetrator was a friend of the victims.

An arrest warrant was subsequently issued.

Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the premeditated murder of the victim, his wife, and their two young daughters after the husband refused to lend him a sum of money.

The suspect resolved to kill the husband and steal his money and gold jewelry.

He lured the man to the Katameya area and fired three shots at him, killing him instantly, before stealing his house key and disposing of his body on a desert road.

Following this, he lured the victim’s wife and two young daughters by falsely claiming the husband had been in a traffic accident, aiming to clear out the residence and steal its contents.

He then fired five shots at them inside the vehicle, killing them.

He proceeded to the residence, but the presence of the building guard prevented him from executing his plan to rob the home.

The suspect reenacted how he committed the crime.

His confession aligned with witness statements from individuals who were in contact with the victims shortly before their deaths, video footage retrieved by the Public Prosecution from locations and shops visited by the suspect and victims around the time of the incident, and mobile tower data confirming that the suspect and victims were in the same geographic locations during the crime.

Furthermore, forensic technical reports confirmed the authenticity of the surveillance footage—with biometric analysis matching the suspect—and corroborating the autopsy findings.

Consequently, the Public Prosecution ordered the suspect held in remanded custody and referred him to an urgent criminal trial.
