Aventura is back on the Billboard 200 more than three decades after the Dominican-American bachata group first formed in the Bronx.
The group’s greatest-hits collection, Todavía Me Amas: Lo Mejor de Aventura, has re-entered the Billboard 200 at No. 196, with a peak position of No. 156 and 41 weeks on the chart.
The chart return comes years after Aventura first made its mark with songs such as “Obsesión,” “Todavía Me Amas,” “Un Beso,” “Mi Corazoncito,” “Los Infieles,” “Por un Segundo” and “Dile al Amor.”
Aventura was formed in 1994 in the Bronx, New York. The group became known for mixing traditional Dominican bachata with R&B, hip-hop, pop and other sounds. Its core lineup included Romeo Santos, Henry Santos, Lenny Santos and Max Santos. Per All Music.

The group’s current Billboard 200 appearance centers on Todavía Me Amas: Lo Mejor de Aventura, a collection released in 2016. The album was named after Aventura’s 2002 song “Todavía Me Amas” and includes several of the group’s best-known recordings.
The group released five studio albums as Aventura between 1999 and 2009. Its debut album, Generation Next, arrived in 1999 and helped introduce the group’s updated approach to bachata.

Lenny and Max Santos first played together with a cousin in a small group called Banda Sueño. Lenny later met Anthony, who would become known as Romeo Santos, and Anthony introduced him to his cousin Henry.
The four eventually formed Los Tinellers and performed around the Bronx. They played for neighbors, local stores and people in the streets.
The group later became Aventura. In 1998, the members signed with Premium Latin Music, giving them a stronger platform to develop their sound and reach a larger audience.
By the early 2000s, Aventura had become one of the most recognized Latin groups in the United States and beyond. The members were also frequently associated with the name “K.O.B.,” short for “Kings of Bachata.”
Aventura went on hiatus in 2011 as its members focused on individual projects. Romeo Santos went on to build a major solo career, while Henry, Lenny and Max also pursued separate musical work.
The group continued to reunite at different points over the years.
In 2016, Aventura returned for a series of concerts in New York. In 2019, the group released “Inmortal,” its first single together since 2010. The song became part of Romeo Santos’ Utopia project and reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart.
Aventura later returned for its Inmortal Tour. In 2021, the group performed at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, where it became the first Latin act to sell out the venue, per Live Nation Entertainment. The tour also included a collaboration with Bad Bunny on “Volví.”
The group reunited again in 2024 for the Cerrando Ciclos tour, which was presented as its final tour. That year, Aventura also released “Brindo Con Agua,” its first group single since 2021.
