Cabaret has cast another major duo to star in its West End run as Sally Bowles and the Emcee.
Beloved Modern Family regular Sarah Hyland and Pitch Perfect star Skylar Astin have been announced as the latest to take on the roles, making their West End debuts in the process.
The pair will be taking over from Jamie Muscato and Joy Woods from 21 September 2026 at the Kit Kat Club, otherwise known as London's Playhouse Theatre.
Hyland is best known for her role as Haley Dunphy in Modern Family, although she has numerous Broadway credits to her name including Connie Francis in Just in Time, Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby, Jacqueline Bouvier in Grey Gardens and Audrey in the off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors.
Meanwhile, Astin is already known for his singing ability, having starred in as Jesse Swanson in Pitch Perfect and Max in Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, plus his theatre credits include originating the role of Georg Zirschnitz in Spring Awakening on Broadway, Mark Cohen in Rent and The Baker in Into the Woods.
Astin will be starring until 12 December 2026 and Hyland until 23 January 2027.
Cabaret has been running in this iteration since 2021, with a succession of TV and film stars including Eddie Redmayne, Cara Delevingne and Maude Apatow. The production recently celebrated its 1,900th performance and will be celebrating 60 years since its first Broadway run this November.
Also joining the company will be Ronan Burns as Ernst Ludwig, Lindsay Atherton as Fraulein Kost/Fritzie, Lily Frances, Peter Houston, Samuel How, Bailey Johnson, Ellie Mitchell, Kirsty Anne Shaw, Natasha Wilde and Nicky Wong Rush.
Continuing in the show will be Baker Mukasa as Clifford Bradshaw, Ruthie Henshall as Fraulein Schneider, Robert Hands as Herr Schultz, Joe Atkinson, Xavion Campbell-Brown, Olivia-Rose Deer, Anya Ferdinand, Danny Fogarty, Adrian Grove and Eva-Rose Tanaka.
