ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester City School District is working to figure out how to handle security for the upcoming school year, which starts in less than 30 days.
The district held an open forum on Tuesday on the safety plan. Officials are reviewing four possible options.
The administration recommends option two.
The district’s operating officer says this is not about discipline, but handling general first response for crisis and emergencies.
No official decision was made Tuesday. Superintendent Eric Jay Rosser said with the new school year less than a month away, students can expect to see officers in schools while the district evaluates next steps.
If you have feedback for the district, it’s accepting public comments on the safety plan until August 20. Written feedback can be emailed to [email protected].
