September marks 30 years since the murder of rapper, actor, and activist Tupac Shakur. He was 25-years-old when he was gunned down in a drive-by in Las Vegas, and died six days later as a result of his injuries. Knight says others are involved, but he refused to name them specifically.
Knight has always maintained his innocence, but did not assist the police in their investigation. He told ABC News recently, “This trial has nothing to do with me, and if somebody brings me there, it’s gonna hurt whoever brings me there,” he said.
In his 2019 memoir, Compton Street Legend, Keefe D revealed that he provided the gun used in the shooting, but said he didn’t pull the trigger. Prosecutors are using the book as a key piece of evidence. Keefe D now says the book was written by a ghostwriter and much of the information in the book is false. He is the only person to have been arrested over Shakur’s killing.
