ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A slow moving cold front will drift south through the morning, settling along the NY/PA border by around midday. Before that happens, expect muggy air region-wide, patchy fog mainly west of Rochester, and some showers in Livingston County through the morning. Once the front settles south skies will turn mostly sunny in the afternoon with noticeably lower humidity and highs around 80 degrees.
We’ll stay mainly dry through Wednesday morning as humidity starts to build again, then another system brings possible showers into the region from the west Wednesday afternoon. Skies will be partly cloudy but check back for updates on how cloud cover may impact the partial solar eclipse which will peak at 1:43pm.
Wednesday night will be partly cloudy with a small chance of a few more passing showers. Again check back for updates as Wednesday night will be the peak of the Perseid meteor shower, with up to 100 shooting stars per hour plus a new moon making for a spectacle in the sky so long as there are no clouds.
Humidity becomes very comfortable for Friday and Saturday with mostly sunny skies and temperatures at or a little below normal. Showers and storms return on Sunday.
