A former Death in Paradise star is joining the cast of Emmerdale.
Chelsea Edge, who played Sophie Chambers – the girlfriend of DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little) in the BBC drama – is heading to the Dales this week.
Her Paradise character was initially believed to be an innocent backpacker, who eventually framed Neville for the death of criminologist David Cartwright (Patrick Kennedy). It was later revealed that her real name was Rebecca Wilmslow.
While she won't be orchestrating murders in the ITV soap, she will be investigating them.
Edge's new character, DS Ramsden, will be thrown straight into the drama when she's summoned to Jacob's Fold in today's (11 August) episode, following the grisly demise of Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker).
We viewers saw Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) push the surgeon, causing her to whack her head off a coffee table. However, in a bid to secure her granddaughter's freedom, Charity Dingle (Emma Aktins) took the blame.
In the coming days and into next week, Charity will maintain her guilty plea – but Ramsden is convinced that she's not getting the whole story.
Last week, series producer Laura Shaw told Radio Times that Todd's impact on the villagers will extend far beyond her death.

Of course, there's still another secret to unfold – the child that Sarah is raising, Leyla, is actually her auntie. This mixup happened when Charity was trying to act as surrogate for Sarah and her husband Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant), but actually fell pregnant with Ross Barton's (Michael Parr) daughter instead.
"Those two are locked in on a secret, and that's going to be long-lasting," Shaw teased.
"It going to affect their relationship. Obviously, there's still the baby secret to come out at some point. It's got to happen at some point.
"And how that will affect the story with with regards to the murder of Todd, you'll have to wait and see."
