The stars of U&Dave's first ever scripted drama Hit Point have discussed their legendary co-star Peter Serafinowicz – including an amusing part of his morning routine.
Nick Blood (Twenty Twenty Six) and Saffron Hocking (Top Boy) lead the thriller, playing detectives Leo and Bella on a case that takes them deep into London's dangerous criminal underworld.
Serafinowicz co-stars as former police officer Carter, who becomes an ally to Leo on the high-risk investigation, which concerns the shocking theft of £10 million.
Speaking to Radio Times, Blood said that Serafinowicz was "so funny", while Hocking added: "I think he's gonna get a restraining order against us because we keep saying, ‘We're obsessed with him, we love Peter so much.’ But we do! He's just incredible, and his character is so cool."
"Yeah, he’s cynical and dry," Blood said, to which Hocking added: "And hot! I was messaging you yesterday and I was like, 'Peter’s hot.'"
"He is, man - that quiff!'," Blood said. "Yeah, he's perfectly cast in it, just that kind of seen it all, not bothered by anything. A great, great guy to have on set, just brings such positivity. I think sometimes when there’s, particularly comedy actors that you’re used to seeing, they can be quite cutting and sharp, and you think, ‘Oh god, are they just going to be cynical about everything?’
"But Peter couldn't be further from that. He brings so much joy and positivity to set. This is one of my favourite things about him – do you know what he does when he wakes up every morning? He goes, 'I'm back!'"
"We all started doing it," Hocking said, laughing. "You wake up and you go, ‘I’m back!’ So funny!"
"But it's brilliant, Blood added, "because you go, ‘Yeah, you get to live another day.'"
"But it's so Peter," Hocking said. "If someone else told you that, you'd be like, 'Oh my god...' But coming from him, you're like, ‘Of course, that's what you do. Of course.'"
Hit Point also stars Nadia Parkes, William Abadie, Brendan Coyle, Moe Bar-El, Ossian Perret and Joshua Sher.
Hit Point premieres at 9pm on Thursday 13 August on U&Dave.
