(CNN) — President Donald Trump will sign an executive order on Monday focused on childhood vaccines, according to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
The order is expected to mark the administration’s latest effort to upend the nation’s vaccine policies after an initiative earlier this year aimed at curbing the number of shots that infants are recommended to receive.
In recent months, Trump has pressed US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for more action on the childhood vaccine schedule, as well as for stepping up efforts to search for links between vaccines and autism.
There have been extensive scientific studies of vaccines that have yielded no evidence of a connection to autism.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
