Sunny shared a touching tribute to Instagram. The pair have been married since 1998 and share two children: Gabriel and Paloma.
“Twenty-eight years. ❤️” she began in a post, featuring throwbacks from their wedding day and special moments throughout the years. “To my handsome, dashing, loyal husband—thank you for still making me laugh every single day. After all these years, we’re still the couple our friends intentionally seat apart at dinner parties because somehow we always end up finding each other, tucked away in a corner, laughing out loud. You have been my greatest love, my best friend, and my safest place. Here’s to 28 incredible years and to a lifetime more of laughter, love, and finding each other in every room. Happy Anniversary, my love.”
In a 2025 episode of The View during their “Hot Topics” segment, Sunny admitted she nearly missed out on her forever love because he didn’t meet a height requirement. "I was going to cancel Manny because I thought he was too short," Hostin recalled in the episode, as reported by PEOPLE. Her best friend convinced her to give Manny a chance. "Regina told me he could stand on his medical degree, and he’d be tall enough. She gives good advice."
Sunny revealed in her 2020 memoir that she first spotted Manny in a Maryland church after a run. She said his style made her notice him, writing, “[He] was gorgeous,” and “decked out in a beautifully tailored suit.”
