“I think the process of making that has been a very circular, healing, process for all of us,” Buckingham said. “Because we had left things in 2019, maybe as far as I was concerned, not in a very good place for all the wrong reasons. No one was happy about it, and all of that has been healed and worked out."
After Buckingham initially left, he returned for various projects like The Dance despite their unresolved issues. One of their biggest public conflicts was in 2019 when the band announced that the guitarist would no longer be a part of the band. Different sources reported it occurred over Buckingham's disagreements about touring, while others claimed Nicks was no longer able to work with him.
Years after their feud, Buckingham and Nicks revisited their early days by re-releasing their first and only album, Buckingham Nicks. However, he admits he has no plans to revisit many of Fleetwood Mac's biggest hits.
“The memories are all mixed up with just rising about the difficulties to follow our destiny,” Buckingham explained. “I can’t say I go back and listen to those [Fleetwood Mac] albums very much, I tend to want to move forward and not look back too much.”
