"I had a great time for those four years and now it's heading in a different direction. Flem will be excellent. He's a little bit like me, but better."

Brendon McCullum also revealed that he and Stephen Fleming had talked nearly everyday and both of them have worked together a lot, and the former head coach has complete trust in the newly appointed head coach that he will do well. He also had discussions with Fleming regarding what is best for English cricket.
"Flem and I talk pretty much every day, we're close mates and we've done a lot together. He's one of those guys I trust completely," said McCullum.
"We have good robust conversations and both of us just want what's right for English cricket. We want to be able to set this thing up so England is successful across all three formats of the game.
"That is going to take some give and some take at times, but we both understand that and we are going to try and work very closely together."

Stephen Fleming has been a big name associated with franchise cricket. He has guided the team to 10 IPL finals, winning 5 titles (2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023). Including the Champions League T20 and reached 11 major global T20 finals, winning 7 total championships during his 18-year tenure with the franchise.
England are winless in their last three Test series as they lost to Australia in the Ashes, drew 2-2 against India, and lastly lost to New Zealand. Fleming will not be in charge in the upcoming three-match Test series against Pakistan, with interim head coach Marcus Trescothick will be taking the responsibility before the former Kiwi captain takes over from the South Africa series.
