Netflix's sci-fi thriller The Last House turns a suburban dream into a nightmare when a family is held hostage in their home by an entity they never knew existed.
The film follows the Delgados, a family of four who discover every exit in their home is sealed, with no explanation or even a way out.
Days turn into weeks and weeks turns in years, forcing them to confront their deepest fears, their relationships with each other and ability to survive in a space they once considered to be safe.
"The first half of the movie is surviving physically," said director Louis Leterrier. "The second half is very much surviving psychologically."
To aid this, production brought in survival consultant Megan Hine to work with the cast and crew to explore the physical and mental impact of surviving in a situation that the Delgado family find themselves in.
"Thinking outside of the box in a survival situation is absolutely key," said Hine. "You have to be able to look at your situation and keep the big picture in view and be able to look around you and think, 'Right, how can I use this item? What have I got here?' and get creative with it."

The family are trapped in their home for five years.
What is keeping the Delgado family trapped?
Throughout the movie, it becomes clear to the audience and the Delgado family that there are sea creatures keeping them hostage.
Before the five-year time jump, it's another day in the house for the Delgados and they are preparing to close the curtains and hide from the creatures. When Ruth realises she hasn't moved her plant pot, she runs to grab it, something one of the creatures notices.
She quickly turns around as her family hide, avoiding the creature for another day.
In the final act of the film, now five years later, the Delgados are desperate to escape as they realise the creatures are in control and are able to open the door when they please.
It's a final act of mercy from Jason when he drops a blade, resisting killing one of the creatures, that allows the Delgado family to finally be free.
Do the Delgado family escape?
Yes, the Delgado family flee their home and escape the sea creatures.
However, it's not as simple as they realise that their entire street and surrounding area is completely flooded, with no survivors around them.
As their home is swallowed into the ground, the family discover that Jason's old fishing boat is still there and is their only chance to leave.
The family aboard the boat and are out at sea as they try to hear out on the radio if there are any survivors.
Asked if she thought the Delgado family continue to survive, Lee told Radio Times: " I'm so exhausted even thinking about it, but I think it's just the beginning for them."
