Army has added Noah Hensley to its coaching staff as associate head coach of the women’s program. Alex Cremer has been promoted to associate head coach on the men’s side.
Hensley arrives after most recently spending time at the USA Swimming club level with Highlander Aquatics in Orlando, Florida. He worked with all age groups from 10-18.
“I knew from the second I saw Scott was hired as the new director of swim and dive that I wanted to be on his staff, and I couldn’t be more honored and humbled to be joining the Black Knights. I can’t wait to get to work with the incredible cadets to continue their success in and out of the pool! Go Army!” Hensley said.
Prior to his time at the club level, Hensley spent his time at the Division II level at Colorado School of Mines. The team sent five athletes to the Division II NCAA Championships where the men’s team had their highest finish since 2011 and the most points scored since 2005.
Before his time at Colorado School of Mines, Hensley was an associate head coach at Miami-Ohio. There he helped coach the programs to 18 school records and six conference records. The team was highlighted by Nicole Maier as Maier qualified for the 2023 and 2024 NCAA Championships. Maier went on to swim at the 2024 Paris Olympics for Germany.
Hensley also had previous coaching stops at IUPUI where he was an assistant for the 2021-2022 season. He also spent the 2020-2021 season as a volunteer assistant at his alma mater NC State. He began his collegiate career at Florida State before transferring to NC State where he graduated in May 2020.
Cremer is elevated to men’s associate head coach. He joined the program in September 2023 as an assistant coach. He has primarily worked with the mid-distance and IM groups.
Army will be in its first season under head coach Scott Thacker who arrived from VMI after Brandt Nigro departed the program to join the Texas women as an associate head coach.
