There were three scratches on the 3rd night of the 2026 U.S. Junior National Championships, and all three came from athletes who are in other finals on night three.
In the girls’ 200 backstroke, 8th seed Ines Arnall, from Westchester Aquatics, was one of two scratches. Arnall chose to focus on the girls’ 100 butterfly instead, where she is the 2nd seed in 1:00.72.
Milly Birch, the 16th seed, also made an event choice, scratched the 200 backstroke to focus on her 400 freestyle ‘D’ final, where she is the 22nd seed in 4:22.48.
The final scratch of the day came from Revolution Aquatics’ Joey Eaddy. He finished 11th in the boys’ 200 backstroke prelims, but chose to scratch the event to focus on the boys’ 400 freestyle, where he is the 2nd seed in 3:53.78.
