When to invite the grandparents over is a perennial problem for new parents. In the normal run of things, we could have expected this once tight-knit family of Andrew, Sarah, Beatrice and Eugenie to gather and gurgle around the latest arrival as soon as possible. This as yet unnamed wee baby has just pushed her great uncle Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, down one place to 16th in line to the throne. The debate about whether Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and his descendants should be removed from this list is ongoing.
