Hobart Hurricanes head coach Jude Coleman has, on Wednesday, August 5, confirmed that Nat Sciver-Brunt will miss the upcoming Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) later this year. The England captain has been struggling with a calf injury for several months and now wants to focus on her recovery before returning to competitive cricket.
Jude Coleman told reporters in Hobart, as quoted by cricket.com.au: “We have already heard from Nat Sciver-Brunt that she's not coming back this year at all to the tournament. It's a disappointing loss for us, but we completely understand."

Coleman said, “Part of our strategy over the past three years (has been) to try and keep the internationals the same. Having Danni (Wyatt-Hodge) locked in for two years in a row made a huge difference."
"We'll be trying to do that again this year and trying to keep our internationals as consistent as we can. And our key (local) players like Molly (Strano), Heather (Graham) and Nicola (Carey), we'll be trying to keep them together as best we can.”
The WBBL 12 season will begin on October 29 with the final scheduled for December 5. The upcoming season will see teams compete in a total of 43 matches, and the Hobart Hurricanes will be hoping to become the first Hurricanes team to win back-to-back titles.
