Orange County Arts Commission, Philanthropy Organization Debut Unified ‘ArtsOrange’ Brand ...Middle East

chapelboro - News

The Orange County Arts Commission and the Orange County Arts Alliance — two organizations working to support local artists — recently came together as one public-facing brand: ArtsOrange.

The two programs operate out of the Eno Arts Mill and already jointly provide programs like the Uproar Festival of Public Art and the Paint it Orange Plein Air Paint-out. According to an OCAC release, ArtsOrange aims to represent both arms and their shared values — community, collaboration, possibility, and inclusion.

The creative team behind ArtsOrange includes award-winning writer, creative director, and artist Sarah Mosseller and design director Marc Schwarzberg. The brand’s logo, hand-drawn by Schwarzberg, combines orange and Carolina Blue to represent the joy, creativity, and a little bit of silliness that is the brand, according to the newsletter.

“Together We Make is a philosophy of collective creativity,” the newsletter reads. “It recognizes that art, community, and opportunity are created through shared effort, shared imagination, and shared courage. At its core, the message is simple: Nothing meaningful is made alone. Art expands the circle. Community strengthens the work. Together, we make what comes next.”

The ArtsOrange brand debuts just more than 40 years after OCAC’s founding in 1985. A unit of Orange County Government, the arts agency works to provide funding and support for local arts programs. The nonprofit was later created in 2021, and in partnership with OCAC, supports arts programming, events, education, and local artists through grants, fundraising, and advocacy efforts.

The announcement also comes ahead of the Eno Arts Mill’s grand reopening on Friday, August 7. From 6 to 9 p.m., the free event marks a new chapter for the mill after it closed for more than a year due to significant flood damage from Tropical Storm Chantal. The evening will celebrate the resilience of the artists, staff, volunteers, and community members whose dedication and donations helped restore the mill and local artists.
