Arkansas has made a late addition to its 2026 roster by adding a transfer athlete from an SEC program.
Maurice Gleaton Jr. was a sprinter at Georgia. He entered the transfer portal, and will now be a dual-sport athlete at Arkansas. Gleaton will play wide receiver for Ryan Silverfield‘s Razorbacks.
“He’s a world-class track athlete,” Silverfield said in his Monday press conference, per WholeHogSports. “He actually was originally coming here to [only do] track, but he’s going to do both. … He’s another receiver add to that mix that just got here.”

Gleaton was recruited as a wide receiver in the Class of 2025. Out of Fairburn (Georgia) Langston Hughes High School, Gleaton was rated 3-stars, the No. 107 player in the Peach State, No. 138 wide receiver nationally and No. 945 prospect overall on the 247Sports Composite. Fifteen teams, including Georgia and Georgia Tech, offered Gleaton out of high school.
As a high school senior, Gleaton tied a record with his time of 9.92 seconds in the 100 meters outdoors. As a UGA freshman, he clocked 6.55 seconds in the 60 meters.
Silverfield is entering his first season as the Arkansas head coach. The Razorbacks open the season on Sept. 5 against North Alabama.
