The University of Missouri has announced that Drayden Bell, a former SEC swimmer at the University of Alabama, will join the coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant.
Bell, originally from Wichita, Kansas, about 320 miles from Columbia, Missouri, competed for the Crimson Tide each of the last four seasons.
Bell shared the news on his Instagram, noting that he would be serving as a Graduate Assistant with Missouri for the next two seasons.

In his time at Alabama, Bell competed at the 2025 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships as a member of the 200 free relay, splitting 19.23. Most recently, Bell competed at the SEC Championships this past February, finishing 33rd in the 100 breast (54.18), 37th in the 50 free (19.87), and 41st in the 100 free (43.55). In 2025, Bell also competed at the US Summer National Championships, where he finished 40th in the 50 free in 23.10.
Bell recently graduated from Alabama with his degree in education.

Bell joins a Missouri program that finished 10th out of 11 men’s teams at the 2026 Men’s SEC Swimming and Diving Championships this past season, and a women’s program that finished 10th out of 13 teams at the Women’s SEC Championships.
