Amy Sedaris Talks Unexpected Part of Working on The Mandalorian (Exclusive)

Actress Amy Sedaris has had many incredible roles over the years, but Star Warsfans will no doubt know her best as Peli Motto, the engineer who appears in both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett and has a personal (and adorable) relationship with "Baby Yoda"—whose actual name is Grogu. Now, Sedaris has revealed what the Child is really like on set and why it caught her by surprise.

Speaking exclusively to Parade about her experience working with the puppet of Grogu on The Mandalorian, Sedaris said, "I didn't think, I was like, come on, it's a puppet. I didn't think, but it was incredible. That is the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life. Really adorable."

About the possibility of Peli returning in the future, Sedaris said, "I would want a bigger uniform. That uniform was so tight. My outfit was so tight. If we did it all over again, I kept having to get an extension on my belt to go around my waist, and it was just so hard to move in it, but, you know, I don't know if they'll do any more of those. But I would just look older."

"I never knew what I was saying," she continued. "It was the hardest thing I ever had to memorize. And then [Jon] Favreau would explain it to me, and it didn't make any sense. So, it was the first time I had to memorize everything word for word, not knowing what I'm saying. It's a very strange process."

While Sedaris isn't yet sure if she will return in Star Wars—or, at least, she can't say—she does have one recently-unveiled venture alongside Lindsay Lohan and Patricia Arquette. Namely, the three partnered on a brand-new ad spot featuring the Reese's Oreo cup. Arquette directed the video, with Lohan offering twins, both played by Sedaris, some guidance on how to get along, as a callback to Lohan's beloved 1998 movie The Parent Trap.
