Chicago police are investigating a shooting on the city’s Near West Side overnight that left a man injured.
According to authorities, a 35-year-old man was standing outside in the 2500 block of West Van Buren at approximately 4:47 a.m. when he became involved in a verbal altercation with another individual.
The suspect in the shooting then pulled out a weapon and opened fire, striking the victim multiple times in the right hand.
The 35-year-old victim in the shooting was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in fair condition.
The suspect fled the shooting on foot, and Area Four detectives are investigating.
