A 30-year-old man who was reported missing from his Evanston home earlier this week has been found dead near Libertyville.
According to officials, emergency responders found the man’s body along the shoreline of the Des Plaines River near Libertyville at approximately 7:30 p.m. Friday evening.
The man was last seen in the Libertyville area earlier this week. He had been seen arriving at Lake Minear and walking toward the Des Plaines River Trail, according to authorities.
NBC Chicago’s Sky 5 helicopter captured aerial footage of emergency personnel searching the Des Plaines River for the Evanston resident on Friday, with a wide search taking place during daylight hours.
The Lake County Swiftwater Rescue Specialized Response Team participated in the search, along with Libertyville fire and police departments and the Lake County Forest Preserve Police.
