ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester police are investigating a series of shootings in the area of North Clinton Avenue on Friday evening and early Saturday morning, involving one victim who died at the scene, police say.
On Friday, around 10:30 p.m., Rochester police reported that there was a large and disorderly crowd of several hundred people that formed on North Clinton Avenue. Police say it took several hours to clear the crowds, starting in the area of North Clinton Avenue and Upper Falls Bouldvard.
Woman killed
Officers say they saw multiple instances of violent behavior while clearing the crowds. As the crowds left the area of North Clinton Avenue and Morrill Street, gunshots were fired within the crowd, according to police. Crowd control agents were at the scene to continue to clear the remaining crowds, and police say they later found a woman on Morrill Street with at least one gunshot wound to the upper body. She reportedly died at the scene.

Over the next few hours, officers continued to clear the crowds in the northeast section of the city, and they said more gunshots were fired at several locations. At least two gunshot victims went to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, police added.
Police are working to determine if any of the shootings are related.

On Saturday, around 12:35 a.m., police went to a hospital for a reported walk-in victim, a 26-year-old Rochester man. He was shot at least once in the lower body, but his injuries were non-life-threatening, police say.
Police are investigating where the man was shot, including what led up to the shooting. No suspects are in custody, police mentioned.

Later, at around 2:05 a.m. on Saturday, police went to the area of Weaver Street, near Joseph Avenue, for another report of someone being shot. Officers say they found a 38-year-old Rochester woman who was shot in the lower body.
She was taken by ambulance to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
This investigation is ongoing, and no suspects are in custody, police say.

Then, at 2:18 a.m., police went to the area of Norton Street and North Clinton Avenue for a reported shooting.
Officers say they were later told that the victim from this scene walked into a hospital. Officers later found a 41-year-old man from Monroe County, who was shot at least once in the lower-body.
He had non-life-threatening injuries, and police also say the investigation is ongoing and no suspects are in custody.
