It was just this week that it was confirmed that actor Joe Miñoso will be leaving Chicago Fire, after being a beloved character on the show since its inception. But fans will have to hold onto their hats once again as it's now been announced that another star will be departing.
Dermot Mulroney, who has starred as Battalion Chief Dominic "Dom" Pascal since season 13, will be leaving the series in the upcoming 15th season. Whilst details haven't yet been revealed, Variety reports that his storyline will be wrapped up "early in the show’s upcoming season".
The new 15th season will be airing this October in the US so whilst we don't have too long to wait to see how Chief Pascal's story will draw to a close, there are certainly plenty of questions that fans will have regarding just how things will unfold.
For one, things ended on a very dramatic cliffhanger in the season 14 finale.
Fans will know that Mulroney actually did take a short hiatus from the show in season 14, with Pascal having been terminated for "unbecoming conduct" during the FBI investigation that unfolded in the One Chicago crossover.
We know that the character has previously toyed with the idea of leaving the fire service for a career in public office to try and affect real change – so it very well could be a possibility that's how Pascal will be bowing out.
But as we know in this series, some things aren't quite so straightforward. Chief Pascal returned in the final season 14 episode and was discussing his future with Kelly (Taylor Kinney) but the pair were interrupted by an emergency call.

We do know that Pascal wasn't in the building and stayed outside, but could this incident change his outlook on his future?
The new season will introduce showrunner Victor Teran, the former co-executive producer and writer on the series, who was promoted following Andrea Newman's exit after 14 seasons at the helm.
Mulroney's exit news follows on from Miñoso's, which confirmed that the longtime star will appear in a handful of episodes at the start of the new season so writers can wrap up Cruz's storyline.
