ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Jamari Johnson, a Division I football athlete and Rochester native, hosted a free youth football camp on Saturday morning at East High School.
The camp offered football training, mentorship and wellness education for boys and girls in grades three through 12. News10NBC caught up with Johnson during the event.
“I was in these people, these youth kids’ shoes. So I just decided to do the same thing,” Johnson said. “When I was coming up doing the same thing, I went to Roland Williams’ camp. It was a good experience and it was different. And he was from here and gave back to his community. I feel like I gotta do the same thing, man.”
