The US Embassy in Baghdad onThursday urged American citizens outside the Middle East to reconsider travelto or transit through the region, warning that Iran and affiliated groups couldtarget additional US interests abroad.
In a security alert, the missionsaid that American citizens currently in the Middle East should exercisecaution, as heightened tensions could lead to flight cancellations, temporaryairspace closures, and other disruptions.
“The security situation remainscomplex, with the potential for unexpected escalation,” it added.
