ATASCADERO, Calif. (KEYT) – Fire crews responded to a fire at a two-story, multi-family residential structure in the 5400 block of Robles Avenue that displaced seven people Tuesday morning.
On July 21, around 10:07 a.m., first responders were dispatched to the 5400 block of Robles Avenue in Atascadero and arriving crews found the exterior balcony of a second-story apartment on fire detailed a press release Tuesday from Atascadero Fire and Emergency Services.
According to Atascadero Fire and Emergency Services, both of the city's engines were already on medical calls and once Engine 7591 was cleared from delivering a patient transfer at Twin Cities Hospital, it went directly to the structure fire response.
Flames on the outside spotted by arriving firefighters had already moved into the building's attic and the on-scene Battalion Chief confirmed the extent of flames throughout the structure after a full assessment of the building explained the local emergency response agency.

The exact cause of Tuesday's fire remains under investigation noted Atascadero Fire and Emergency Services.
