A new mystery has emerged in Emmerdale.
It all kicked off with the lady of the manor, Kim Tate (Claire King), hearing an unusual noise downstairs at Home Farm. Armed with her shotgun, she made her way down the staircase and called out to warn whoever had broken in that she was there.
Clearly spooked by the situation, she picked up the phone and ordered 'Head of Operations' Ross Barton (Michael Parr) to make his way over – despite it being the middle of the night – and investigate who could be responsible.
Kim was pretty certain that whoever had broken in was someone on a list she'd collated, and the first name on the list was Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb).
She has plenty of grudges against the Tate clan. After all, they turfed her out of her home and business – Butler's Farm – after almost two decades.
Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) knew that Moira's business partner Vic Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) had killed her brother John (Oliver Farnworth), and used this information to get her to sign over her share of the property. He'd also framed Moira for a crime she didn't commit, which resulted in her being sent down and in a position where she needed to let go of Butler's.
When Ross challenged Moira about the intrusion, she was very quick to deny everything and insisted that her issues with the Tates were long-buried. Although she wasn't happy with what they'd done to her, she certainly had no desire to break into Home Farm.
Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) was the next to be accused, leading to a physical fight between Ross and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy), who staged a return after her sudden exit last week, intervened and stopped them.
Later that night, Kim discovered that a USB stick had been taken from her computer. Its contents are largely unknown, though a quick glimpse at a laptop screen showed that there were several photos of the Tates on there – including of the late Frank Tate – and a multitude of folders.
The laptop closed, and Serena was revealed to be the thief.
But what does she want with the USB stick, and how long will it be before Ross uncovers her crime?
