CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — Crews are searching Canandaigua Lake for a swimmer who went missing on Sunday evening.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says a 51-year-old man jumped off a boat to go swimming, but after five minutes in the water, the passengers on the boat were no longer able to see him.
Deputies arrived at the lake, near State Route 364, around 8:40 p.m. to search for the swimmer. Crews used multiple boats equipped with sonar and a drone to search the lake. However, the swimmer hasn’t been found yet.
The sheriff’s office says the search will resume on Monday morning. Check back for updates.
