As with everything Donald Trump does, his entry to MetLife Stadium in the US state of New Jersey before the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina was a spectacle.
The US President flew over the stadium in Marine One, the presidential helicopter, about 45 minutes before the match, won 1-0 in extra time by Spain, and then took his place in a private box surrounded by bulletproof glass.
In that private box were leading members of the Trump inner circle as well as world leaders and various other dignitaries, led by Trump’s wife Melania Trump and son Barron Trump.

Also in the box, according to Politico reporter Sophia Cai on X, were King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain, as well as Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, and all were able to witness their nation lift the trophy.
Fifa President Gianni Infantino was also in the box, as was Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, the leaders of the other two of this tournament’s host nations.
Three members of Trump’s cabinet were also there – Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin.

The Washington Post reported that Trump’s extended family, including sons Donald Jr. and Eric, and daughters Ivanka and Tiffany Trump and their husbands, were all in a separate box.
Trump booed by crowd
Trump appeared on the big screen during the match, but it wasn’t until he walked out on the pitch with Infantino for the trophy presentation that the crowd let him have it, raining down boos on him.
It continued a long-standing pattern of Trump being booed in front of big crowds in the New York/New Jersey area, his home part of the country.

After Trump presented Spain with the World Cup trophy, he attempted to stand with the team at the side of the podium as they celebrated before Infantino moved him away.
It was a repeat of last summer’s Club World Cup at the same stadium after Trump presented the trophy to champions Chelsea and tried to crash the celebrations.
“I would say Spain played better, really, but they both played well,” Trump told reporters after the game.
He said he had congratulated Sanchez, the Spanish prime minister, on the victory.
