The English rock band Talk Talk is celebrating a milestone anniversary this year. The group's landmark 1986 album, The Colour of Spring, is turning 40, and in honor of the anniversary, Talk Talk is releasing a reissue of the record.
When The Colour of Spring came out in February 1986, fans and critics were surprised to hear a different sound from the band. Talk Talk, led by the late singer-songwriter Mark Hollis, decided to move away from the synthesizer-heavy sound that the band was previously known for.
The 1986 record was a huge success with both critics and fans. Singles from the album like "Life's What You Make It" and "Living in Another World" peaked in the Top 20 on music charts in several countries. It also became Talk Talk's highest-selling non-compilation album release.
As The Colour of Spring turns 40 this year, a unique vinyl reissue is coming out this September. Using the original tapes, the record was cut at half-speed by mastering engineer Matt Colton on 180g vinyl. The meaningful project was overseen by Talk Talk drummer Lee Harris and Mark Hollis' son Charlie.
The record will feature the songs "Happiness Is Easy," "I Don't Believe in You," "Life’s What You Make It," and "April 5th" on Side 1. The other side will include "Living In Another World," "Give It Up," "Chameleon Day," and "Time It’s Time."

Fans of the legendary rock band were excited about the news, with many praising the album in the comments on Instagram.
