July 16-19, 2026 Columbus, Ohio LCM (50 meters) Meet Mobile “2026 Central Zone East Summer Speedo Sectiona” Day 1 RecapEarning two wins on night two of Sectionals in Columbus was TJ Frost. Frost kicked off the night with a win in the boys 200 free, touching in a 1:49.56. That dropped 0.12 off his lifetime best from last summer. Later in the evening, Frost earned his second win as he touched in a 4:22.22 in the 400 IM. That added two seconds from his best time.
Also highlighting the night was Matthew Klinge as he won the 100 butterfly in a 51.77. That was a lifetime best by 0.34 seconds as he swam a 52.11 at US Nationals last June. He went on to finish 7th in the final with a 52.15 while his time from tonight would have moved him up one spot to 6th at 2025 US Nationals. Also earning a win to complete Ohio State’s sweep on the men’s side was Joseph Roth as he touched in a 25.67 in the 50 back.
Emily Brown highlighted the women’s side of the meet as she swam to a 1:59.77 to win the 200 free. Brown, who swims collegiately for Tennessee, dropped over three seconds off her best time as she came into the meet with a best time of a 2:03.52 from 2021 when she was in high school. Brown also was second in the 100 fly, touching in a 59.32 to take 0.12 off her best time she swam at last summer’s Columbus Sectionals. Carrie Furbee earned the win as she swam to a 59.05, taking 0.55 off her lifetime best.
Winning the women’s 400 IM was Paige Delma as she swam to a 4:51.47 to win by over two seconds. Delma has been as fast as a 4:47.99 that she swam at the US Open in December. After winning the 200 back on night 1, KK LeBlanc swam to a win in the 50 backstroke, touching in a 28.84.
