Former Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan reveals whether shed return to soap as Daisy Midgeley amid new BBC drama role

It's been over a year since Daisy Midgeley fled Coronation Street, but fans have still missed her ever since.

Now the talented actress Charlotte Jordan is back on our screens in a leading role in the BBC cosy crime drama The Hairdresser Mysteries, opposite British comedy favourite Sally Phillips.

However, when Radio Times spoke to her about her new role, we couldn't help but check in on how Charlotte feels about how her new role compares to Coronation Street.

When asked about the different experiences of filming, Charlotte said: "I mean, speed-wise, it wasn't an adjustment… Corrie was a fantastic training ground in that sense, for this particular job, but I did really like playing a character that couldn't be more different from who I played… which was great. I was hoping for that. I wanted to play someone next who was the polar opposite, so I'm grateful for that."

She continued: "But no, it wasn't super different technically, it was all sort of the same ingredients, but it was a very different world, and it's a very different tone, and it's obviously very different, it's a different genre, different vibes. So that was great."

Of course, we then asked if Charlotte would ever return to the cobbles as Daisy one day - that would certainly scramble the head of her beloved Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).

The character left the Street with wads of cash after taking revenge on stepmother Jenny Bradley (Sally Ann Matthews) and leaving behind her on-off romance with Daniel for good.

Charlotte answered: "Oh, well, nobody's asked [laughs], but for now I'm happy to sort of just keep exploring and keep seeing what...I mean, I only left a year ago, it's very early days, so now I'm happy to keep, keep giving it a good go."

So, it's not a no, but it's likely not to be any time soon...

In the meantime, catch Charlotte in The Hairdresser Mysteries, which is now available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
