2026 Speedo Summer Sectionals – Central Zone South
July 15-18, 2026 Mizzou Aquatics Center, Columbia, MO LCM (50m) Results on MeetMobile (“Speedo Summer Sectionals – Central Zone South”) Day 1 recapDay 2 of the Speedo Summer Sectional in Columbia featured more great racing. Nebraska’s Riley Miklos had a huge swim in the women’s 200 free, clocking a 1:59.92. Not only was that Miklos’ 1st time under 2:00 in the event, it was her 1st time under 2:02. She put together an excellent race last night, splitting 28.30 on the opening 50, then putting up splits of 30.08, 30.78, and 30.76 respectively.
Another big swim in the women’s 200 free came from Autumn McIntosh, a 13-year-old out of Berzerker Swimming in Arkansas. McIntosh popped a 2:03.26 in finals to finish 3rd. That was a huge career best for the 13-year-old, who entered the meet with a best of 2:07.17.
Missouri State’s Zach Mendez, who is competing for Club North Swimming, won the men’s 200 free in 1:53.16. That swim came in just off Mendez’s personal best of 1:52.42.
The women’s 100 fly saw 17-year-old Lucy Velte (Empire KC Swim Club) claim victory in 59.85. Velte, one of the top ranked swimmers in the class of 2027, was just off her career best of 59.59, which was set last month.
Nebraska’s Gena Jorgenson won the women’s 400 IM in 4:49.67. Jorgenson was a second off her career best of 4:48.64. Arkansas’ Holly Robinson came in 2nd with a 4:54.13, marking a huge career best for her. Robinson entered the meet with a personal best of 4:59.64.
Following his breakout performance in the 200 back on Wednesday, SMU’s Andy Baklanov, who is competing for Empire KC Swim Club, won the men’s 400 IM in 4:24.75. That swim marks another big career best for Baklanov, taking well over 2 seconds off his previous best of 4:27.47.
Missouri State’s Anderson Brown took the men’s 100 fly in 54.34. Brown clocked a 54.91 in prelims, which marked his first time under 55 seconds in the event.
