Fresh US strikes hit southernIran on Thursday, including Bandar Abbas and areas near the Strait of Hormuz,Iranian media reported, as Tehran vowed a “direct and decisive” response.
Missiles struck severallocations in Hormozgan province, while a projectile landed near the Bushehrnuclear power plant. Qeshm Island was also hit, including the village of Masan.Local authorities recorded no civilian casualties or infrastructure damage inthe province.

US Central Command (CENTCOM)said earlier the operation focused on command centers, air defenses, dronecapabilities, and coastal surveillance sites near Bandar Abbas to weaken Iran’sability to threaten commercial shipping. A separate 90-minute mission theprevious day hit coastal defense systems, a cruise missile facility, and launchpositions on Greater Tunb Island.
In Ahvaz, Shahid Baghaei 2Hospital, a pediatric cancer center, resumed operations after 211 patients weretemporarily evacuated when US missiles landed nearby late Wednesday, Iranianofficials told local media. No one was harmed during the transfer, andtreatment restarted despite the critical condition of several children at thecancer center.
Foreign Ministry spokespersonEsmaeil Baqaei considered the incident a “war crime” and charged Washingtonwith endangering pediatric patients. He separately cautioned that renewedaction against the country would draw an “unequivocal” response, affirming thatthe armed forces were prepared for all scenarios and that implementation of thememorandum of understanding remained tied to the principle of “commitment forcommitment.”

It defended Iranian attacks on facilities involved inoperations against the country as “legitimate self-defense,” called onneighboring states to prevent their territory from being used for hostileaction, and charged the United States with breaching the newly signedmemorandum and “betraying diplomacy” for the third time within a year.
