ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A local adoption event could get you your next furry companion for just $1.
From now until July 26, Rochester Animal Services is hosting “Dollar Dog Days.” offering dog adoptions for $1 as the shelter undergoes renovations that have temporarily reduced its kennel capacity.
The special adoption event is part of the shelter’s ROC The Shelter campaign. The shelter says the adoptions help create space for other animals.
How to adopt
To adopt a dog, head to Rochester Animal Services on Verona Street. The shelter is open on weekdays from noon to 6 p.m. and on weekend until 4 p.m. To view adoptable pets, learn more about fostering, or submit an application, click here.
What kinds of dogs are available?
Dogs of all ages, sizes and personalities are available for adoption, including about 20 dogs currently in foster homes and about 10 dogs in the shelter. The shelter says every adopted dog is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
