Bachelorette alum Joe Amabile has shared some serious health news with fans.
Amabile underwent a Prenuvo scan -- as many of his friends have done -- and was likely going to share his experience with his social media followers to promote the health company. Prenuvo is a whole-body MRI that is designed to screen for more than 500 conditions, including early-stage tumors.
What Amabile didn't expect was for the scan to find a lesion in his brain.
View this post on Instagram"So, a little medical update," Amabile said in a video posted to social media on July 13. "I didn't share my Prenuvo results because they ended up finding a lesion in my brain."
Amabile, who is also known to Bachelor Nation as "Grocery Store Joe," said that he underwent a brain MRI that showed a blueberry-sized lesion that appears to be a glioma. According to the Mayo Clinic, gliomas can be benign or malignant. Amabile will need to undergo brain surgery to remove the tumor and have it tested.
"It's been a wild couple weeks," Amabile said. "I definitely wasn't expecting this." He received dozens of supportive comments from friends and fans alike, many wishing him the best as he awaits the next steps.
"Sending all the love and support brother. Can’t wait to play a round of golf when you’re all better," said former "Bachelor" lead Joey Graziadei.
"You got this Joe! Stay strong brother," wrote "Bachelorette" alum Tyler Cameron.
"Sending prayers and love man," added "Bachelorette" alum Jason Tartick.
Amabile also received support from his Dancing With the Stars family, including his Season 27 partner, Jenna Johnson.
"Omg Joe! Sending you all the love and support," Johnson commented.
Amabile made his reality television debut on Season 14 of The Bachelorette. Though he didn't find love with Becca Kufrin (he was sent home night one), fans of the show fell in love with him and he's become one of the most popular reality stars to come out of the franchise. He met his now-wife, Serena Pitt, on Bachelor in Paradise. The couple wed in 2022.
