ROCHESTER, N.Y. — News10NBC is tracking temperatures in the 90s and a heat index that could make it feel like over 100 degrees on Tuesday. We’ve issued a Yellow Alert, and you can see our latest forecast here.
To keep people safe from the excessive heat, the City of Rochester and all local counties are providing cooling resources. Any time temperatures are forecasted to reach 85 degrees or higher, the city activates a “Cool Sweep,” providing cooling resources through its R-Centers, spray parks, and libraries.
In addition, counties across the state have designated cooling centers set up where people can go to escape the heat, such as air-conditioned libraries. You can search for your nearest cooling center here.
